Over many years, fish stocks have declined due to many factors, global warming being one of the most challenging. Working closely with local municipalities, sponsors, local schools and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), we strive to restore the thriving Walleye fishery that residents and tourists once enjoyed.

Our hatchery has existed for over 35 years; however, with our natural environmental parameters changing, like global warming and water contaminants in spring runoff, we took a new approach by developing and building a state-of-the-art, wheelchair-accessible mobile hatchery. The hatchery employs innovative technology, new techniques and educational learning opportunities for our youth.

With our unique approach, including an educational component with micro hatcheries in schools and high success rates, all supported with permits from the MNRF, we can give our once sought-after Walleye fishery and local Almaguin tourism industry a positive economic boost.

Our mobile hatchery is open to the general public. We can schedule school classroom visits to our location, or you can contact us to request that our ACHP Team attend your function.

Contact us by E-mail at

vicepresident@almaguinhatchery.com

Welcome to the Almaguin Community Hatchery Program (If the above video does not start, please…

["post-64","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
